I miss home a little, since I had to teach my kids about Dixieland jazz in New Orleans and the River Queens on the Mississippi and Elvis in Memphis, Tennessee and how Rock n Roll was born. I vastly oversimplified the history (3rd graders in a second language!) Then we listened to some rock n roll and danced the twist! They liked it. Weirdest question- "Is New Orleans a black people city?" Oh dear...
Also some of the kids asked me if I dance like that. So I said yes, cause I love to swing! We've got a pretty nice dance scene growing in my town and I can go swing dance every Wednesday now. I love it!!
